"Alaska Rep. Don Young, who's been in Congress for most of his 79 years on earth,* said something that a younger man never would. Young grew up in a Steinbeckian California, and he remembered it (in a friendly radio interview) this way.
My father had a ranch; we used to have 50-60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes. It takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now. It's all done by machine."*
Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) is under fire for using the term "wetbacks" to describe Latino workers, He says he didn't mean it in a "bad" way, but is there really a good way? Is he guilty of ignorance, or more? Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola (Host, TYT University), and Brian Unger (Actor, writer- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) discuss.
