Fox News' Insulting Advice to Female Gun Violence Victims



"Appearing on Fox News Wednesday evening, Dana Perino suggested female victims of violence should "make better decisions" in order to escape harm.

The comment came during a discussion about the murder of 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins, who was killed by her boyfriend, NFL player Jovan Belcher. On Saturday, Belcher shot his girlfriend repeatedly, and then drove to the Kansas City Chiefs' facility, where he killed himself."*

On the topic of Jovan Belcher's murder-suicide with his girlfriend Cassandra Perkins, Fox News made some pretty terrible takeaways. Dana Perkins said women in violent or threatening domestic situations should "make better decisions" while Greg Gutfeld said they should carry guns, like the "millions" of people who do successfully. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss the untrue gun "facts made by Fox News and whether or not Perino gets her pass for seemingly victim-blaming.
