BOWIE, Md. - Bowie State University disposed of Washington Adventist University in just over an hour in match one of a non-conference doubleheader, defeating the Lady Shock 3-0. The BSU Lady Bulldogs took match one by scores of 25-20, 25-11 and 25-21 and snapped an eight-match slide.

The opening match saw the scored tied seven times but Bowie State only trailed one time in the 61 minute match. Juniors Brelyn Finley and Briana Flowers paced the Lady Bulldogs on offense with six and five kills respectively. The Lady Bulldogs trio of sophomore Remi Anderson along with freshmen Alexis Fisherand Kheri Mobley tallied three kills apiece in the three set sweep. Junior Kasi Eisenzimmer was responsible for match-highs of 13 assists and four service aces to go along with five digs.

The Shock was led by Katrina Moore with a team-high five kills and Sarah Guerra along with Deidra Payne contributed four kills each in the loss. Rachael Nutter recorded a team-high 12 assists and added a team-high eight digs.

Washington Adventist (2-11) ended match one with a negative attack percentage of .051, totaling 20 overall kills on 79 attacks, but 24 errors.
