Accused 'Wikileaks' Soldier's Extremely Harsh Jail Conditions

"Private First Class Bradley Manning, the American soldier accused of leaking hundreds of thousands of classified and confidential military and diplomatic documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, took the stand in a military court today to make his first public statements since his arrest in 2010.

Manning appeared confident and animated at a pre-trial hearing at Fort Meade in Maryland as he described the mental breakdowns and extreme depression he suffered during his first year in detention, from cells in Iraq and Kuwait to the Marine base at Quantico in Virginia. Within weeks of his arrest, Manning said, he became convinced he was going to die in custody.

"I was just a mess. I was really starting to fall apart," the 24-year-old former Army intelligence analyst said. Manning said he didn't remember an incident while in Kuwait where he bashed his head into a wall or another where he fashioned a noose out of a bed sheet as his civilian attorney, David Coombs, said he had, but Manning did say he felt he was "going to die... [in] an animal cage."*

Bradley Manning, the solider accused of 'wikileaking' classified documents finally spoke publicly about his treatment while being detained. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola (Host, TYT University), and Mark Thompson (TV Host) discuss the demeaning, maddening, and depressing treatment Manning says he received.

MSNBC's Krystal Ball Talks About Photo Scandal

"MSNBC host Krystal Ball joined host Abby Huntsman on HuffPost Live Thursday to discuss the reasons why her 2010 congressional campaign failed.

After winning the Democratic nomination, sexually suggestive photographs of Ball horsing around with friends at a Christmas party were released. The photos featured Ball using a friends Reindeer nose as a penis in several sexual poses, and Republican Rob Wittman would go on to win the seat from Virginia's conservative first district.

"It was devastating," Ball said, saying it played into her insecurities about not being taken seriously as a female candidate."*

GOP 'Diversity' - Where Are Women and Minorities?

"After President Obama's re-election, top Republicans have professed a need to broaden the party's demographic appeal—but if the latest GOP House leadership roster is any indication, that may take some time to sink in.

Republican leaders in the 113th Congress have recommended an all-white-male group of committee chairmen so far, including 12 returning congressmen.

Many top committees like Financial Services shifted power between top GOP players, but Rep. Paul Ryan was granted a waiver to surpass the customary six-year term limit on his powerful chairmanship. The former vice presidential candidate will remain leader of the Budget Committee."*

Rush Limbaugh was upset that the token candidates pushed by the GOP weren't elected, and was befuddled that the Republican party is being criticized for its lack of diversity. Cenk Uygur gives us the fact on who is in leadership positions with the party, and what they support.

Gangnam Style - O'Reilly's Racist, Confused Analysis

"Bill O'Reilly is really befuddled by the popularity of "Gangnam Style" — so befuddled that he brought controversial Fox News psychiatrist Keith Ablow on for an existential discussion about the viral sensation on Tuesday.

The mega-hit by Korean pop star Psy recently became the most-watched video in the history of Youtube. O'Reilly, however, just wasn't having it.

On Tuesday night, he hosted Ablow — who is known for saying that Chaz Bono on "Dancing With the Stars" could make children reconsider their gender and and that Newt Gingrich's infidelity would make him a better president — to explain "the madness."*

Florida GOP Admits to Suppressing Black, Democrat Voters

"It's common knowledge that Florida cut back on early voting in 2011 to reduce the turnout of blacks and other groups likely to vote for Democrats. But it's refreshing to see that former top Republicans in the state are now saying so out loud.

In an interview with The Palm Beach Post published on Sunday, the former chairman of the Florida Republican Party said voter suppression was the sole reason for the change to the election rules. Jim Greer, the party chairman in from 2006 to 2010, said he went to several meetings during which Republican officials discussed the damage that early voting — which brought an unprecedented number of black voters to the polls in 2008 — had done to the party.

"The Republican Party, the strategists, the consultants, they firmly believe that early voting is bad for Republican Party candidates," Mr. Greer said. "It's done for one reason and one reason only."*

Cenk Uygur breaks down the admitted truth behind voter ID laws being themselves, a fraud to suppress voters with non-conservative interests.

The Bulldogs make their home debut at 7 pm Tuesday (11/27) against the Wolves of Cheyney University in BSU's A.C. Jordan Arena. Follow Bowie State basketball via LIVE STATS or AUDIO/VIDEO STREAMING.

The Lady Bison utilized the halftime intermission to revive its offense. Howard scored the first four points of the second half only to have Bowie State go on a 5-0 run to take their first and only lead at 25-24 at the 15:13 mark on a Miles triple.

HU's Doyle answered with a jumper on the other end and the Lady Bison would never trail again. From there, the host Lady Bison outscored the Lady Bulldogs 15-3 over the next three minute to take a commanding 41-28 advantage.

A pair of free throws by BSU's Jacobs stopped the Howard run with 7:05 remaining in the game, but the deficit was just too much to overcome.

Fox News: Dead Walmart Factory Workers 'Appreciated' Those Jobs

"The 129 Bangladeshis who died in a fire caused by poor fire safety conditions in their garment factory should be thankful for their jobs, according to Fox Business host Charles Payne. Speaking with Neil Cavuto on Fox News this Monday, Payne excused this Sunday's fire as a rare event and labelled all critics of the unsafe conditions that contributed to the tragedy as anti-Capitalist:

PAYNE: It is tragic. I don't think something like this will happen again. Don't think that the people in Bangladesh who perished didn't want or need those jobs, as well. I know we like to victimize everyone in this country, particularly when it comes to for-profit motivation, which is being assaulted. But, you know, it is a tragedy but I think it is a stretch, an amazing stretch, to sort of try to pin this on Walmart but, of course, the unions in this country are desperate."*

MSNBC Host: McCain Racist for Opposing Susan Rice

"MSNBC host of The Cycle, Touré, attacked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Monday for his role in opposing United Nations ambassador Susan Rice's nomination to replace Sec. Hillary Clinton as the next Secretary of State. Touré claimed that McCain is attempting to secure some of his fleeting influence in Washington as the outgoing ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and has done his party's image harm as a white politician opposing a black, female candidate.

Sex Tape Used to Extort Chinese Official Goes Viral

"Last Friday, city official Lei Zhengfu was removed from his post as district party secretary in China after a five-year-old sex tape was leaked by a journalist. But now, Zhu Ruifeng said the girl in the video was offered as a bribe and claims he has tapes of similar nature of other city officials.

The sex tape of Lei Zhengfu and an 18-year-old woman who was not identified went viral last month despite being filmed five years prior in what The Associated Press called an "apparent extortion attempt." The tape was uploaded by Beijing-based former journalist Zhu Ruifeng on Nov. 20, subsequently going viral on the internet.

hu Ruifeng told The Associated Press that he received the tape from an anonymous source inside the Chongqing Public Security Bureau. He also said the woman was hired by a construction company to sleep with Lei Zhengfu in exchange for construction contracts and to extort business.

He added Lei Zhengfu reported the extortion to Chongqing officials in 2009, prompting the detainment of the woman for a month and the jailing of a construction boss."*

Walmart Black Friday- Why Workers Are Striking

"The National Labor Relations Board said it is unlikely to make any decision before Thursday's Thanksgiving Holiday on Wal-Mart Stores Inc's push to stop protests and rallies outside its stores, the U.S. labor board said on Tuesday.

At the same time, OUR Walmart, the organization that has been staging the protests filed its own charge with the NLRB, saying Wal-Mart was illegally attempting to deter workers from participating in strikes against the world's largest retailer on Friday.

The immediate issue is whether workers will be able to stage major protests at Walmart discount stores on "Black Friday," the day after Thanksgiving that is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year."*

Christians Suing Over Atheist 'Nativity' Scenes

"Santa Monica may bar Nativity and other seasonal displays in public spaces, a federal judge tentatively ruled Monday.

In a closely watched case that has drawn national attention, Judge Audrey B. Collins of the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles denied a church coalition's request that the court require the city to allow Nativity scenes to be displayed in Palisades Park this year, as it has for nearly 60 years.

"The atheists won on this," said William J. Becker Jr., an attorney for the Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee, a coalition of 13 churches and the Santa Monica Police Officers Assn. Standing in front of TV news cameras outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, Becker predicted that the court on Dec. 3 would also grant the city's request that his group's lawsuit be dismissed."*

Can't Afford Healthcare? Obamacare 'On the Table'

"After Mitt Romney lost on Election Day, it appeared that the health care law was here to stay. States are scrambling to meet federally-imposed deadlines to implement state exchanges and the administration announced coverage mandates. But House Speaker John Boehner signaled Tuesday that he is not giving up efforts to repeal the bill.

In an op-ed in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Boehner wrote that "we can't afford" the Affordable Care act, and said, "That's why I've been clear that the law has to stay on the table as both parties discuss ways to solve our nation's massive debt challenge."

Congress and the White House are involved in negotiations over the so-called "fiscal cliff." Spending cuts are a major component of the talks as Republicans are pushing for less spending in lieu of raising taxes. Boehner has spoken in general terms about his priorities for deficit reduction; this op-ed signals that health care is another element he wants thrown in the pot.

The Congressional Budget Office, however, has estimated that the cost of the main component of the health care law, the health insurance exchanges, will lower the government's share of health care costs because fewer people will be enrolled in the Medicaid program. Another CBO report says repealing the health care law would cost taxpayers $109 billion."*

Steve Oh (COO of The Young Turks) and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) break down Boehner's claims that "we can't afford healthcare." Should Obamacare be on the table in fiscal cliff negotiations? Should it be decided upon state by state?

Teen Sentenced to Church for 10 Years After Manslaughter

"An Oklahoma teen convicted of manslaughter has sentenced to 10 years of probation, with requirements that include regularly attending church.

Tyler Alred, now 17, had been drinking when he crashed a pickup truck at around 4 a.m. on Dec. 3, 2011, Tulsa World reports. The accident killed Alred's friend, 16-year-old John Luke Dum, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Rubio on Earth's Age: 'I'm Not a Scientist, Man'

"There has been some attention paid, predictably enough, to Florida Senator Marco Rubio's response to a GQ interviewer's question about the age of the Earth. Here are the remarks themselves:

GQ: How old do you think the Earth is?
Marco Rubio: I'm not a scientist, man. I can tell you what recorded history says, I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think that's a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. I think the age of the universe has zero to do with how our economy is going to grow. I'm not a scientist. I don't think I'm qualified to answer a question like that. At the end of the day, I think there are multiple theories out there on how the universe was created and I think this is a country where people should have the opportunity to teach them all. I think parents should be able to teach their kids what their faith says, what science says. Whether the Earth was created in 7 days, or 7 actual eras, I'm not sure we'll ever be able to answer that. It's one of the great mysteries."*

'Christian Values' Attorney Charged with Child Porn, Exploitation

"Federal agents arrested a Christian New Hampshire lawyer Saturday and accused her of allegedly driving a teen girl to Canada and cajoling her into allowing her to film her having sex.

The Concord Monitor reported that Biron was arrested by FBI officials Friday before a scheduled hearing on child pornography possession charges stemming from an Oct. 9 arrest.

The federal indictment against Lisa Biron — who has been linked to Alliance Defending Freedom, a right-wing lawyers group that says on its website it advocates for "religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family" — includes charges of not only possessing child pornography, but five counts of sexually exploiting a child and one count of transportation with intent to engage in child pornography.*

Obama Fiscal Cliff Game Plan: Leave Washington?

"President Barack Obama is preparing to expand the fiscal cliff fight beyond the confines of Washington, travelling the country and leaning on Democratic activist groups to help apply political pressure.

Rep. Allen West FINALLY Concedes Loss

"Citing "inaccuracies' in the vote, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) conceded to, and congratulated, Democrat Patrick Murphy on Tuesday morning.

"While there are certainly still inaccuracies in the results, and the actions of the St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters, after much analysis and this past weekend's recount in St. Lucie County, our legal team does not believe there are enough over-counted, undercounted or fraudulent votes to change the outcome of the election," he said in prepared text.

Clinton In Israel to Negotiate Ceasefire

"Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was on her way to the Middle East on Tuesday as the U.S. urgently tries to contain the blood conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Clinton hastily left Cambodia, where she had joined President Obama for summit meetings with Asian leaders. She will make three stops, meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, Palestinian officials in Ramallah, West Bank, and Egyptian leaders in Cairo, according to State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.

Nuland said Obama had spoken to Netanyahu and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. Clinton, she said, will build on those talks to encourage "de-escalation of violence and a durable outcome that ends the rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns and restores a broader calm."*
