"Despite an eventful two months that saw an undercover cocaine bust and a stint in drug rehab, Florida Rep. Trey Radel (R) doesn't sound like a man who is going to resign.

On the same day he walked out of a Naples, Fla., drug rehabilitation clinic, the freshman congressman — who pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine in November — said he is wrestling with what he describes as a problem with alcohol, and added that he loves "serving" his southwest Florida constituents.

Lesbian Encounters Skyrocket Among British Women

"The number of British women having lesbian encounters has quadrupled in the last 20 years, according to the largest-ever survey of Britain's sexual habits which was published on Tuesday.

The National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles, which quizzed more than 15,000 Britons about their sex lives, found that nearly eight percent of women had been with female partners, compared to just 1.8 percent in 1990.

For-Profit College Inflates Job Placement Rates Using Fake Jobs

"Eric Parms enrolled at an Everest College campus in the suburbs of Atlanta in large part because recruiters promised he would have little trouble securing a job.

He'd seen the for-profit school's television commercials touting its sterling rates of job placement, and he'd heard the pledges of admissions staff who assured him that the campus career services office would help him find work in his field.

But after completing a nine-month program in heating and air conditioning repair in the summer of 2011 -- graduating with straight As and $17,000 in student debt -- Parms began to doubt the veracity of the pitch. Career services set him up with a temporary contract position laying electrical wires. After less than two months, he and several other Everest graduates also working on the job were laid off and denied further help finding work, he says.

Even that short-lived gig wasn't secured on the strength of Parms's degree. Cracker Barrel Heeds Call To Bring Back Duck Dynasty Products

"Cracker Barrel has heeded to an old adage: The customer is always right.


Late Sunday, the Tennessee-based restaurant chain, which has 625 locations in 42 states, reversed course and said it would resume selling "Duck Dynasty" merchandise.

Customer outcry, the company said, forced it to reevaluate its decision to stop carrying merchandise from the popular reality TV show after controversial comments made by the show's star in a recent magazine interview.

"You told us we made a mistake," the company said on its Facebook page. "And, you weren't shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. Terrible AIDS Tweet Gets PR Exec Fired Before Her Plane Lands

"The communications director for the Internet giant that owns popular websites like Match.com, Dictionary.com, and Vimeo has been fired over "hateful statements" in a tweet that came from her account.

The tweet Friday from the account of Justine Sacco read: "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!"

InterActive Corp, Sacco's employer, issued a statement to ABC News this afternoon distancing itself from the tweet and saying the employee was fired.

Unarmed Mentally Ill Man Shot To Death By Cops - Excessive?

"What began as a dramatic Los Angeles car chase last Friday ended with police firing 15 to 20 rounds at the unarmed driver, Brian Newt Beaird, who reportedly had schizophrenia. Up to 20 police officers were pursuing Beaird for suspected drunk or reckless driving, and over the course of the chase he injured passengers in another car. Beaird exited the car after the crash, his arms raised and empty-handed, only to be gunned down by police.

Gilbert Vasquez, a friend of Beaird's, told NBC4 News that he was schizonphrenic, not drunk. "He heard voices so he probably saw the helicopter lights, the lights of the cops pursuing him," Vasquez said. "It scared the hell out of him." The three officers involved have been removed from the field, pending an internal investigation.

Megyn 'Santa And Jesus Are White' Kelly A Victim Of Race-Baiting

"Megyn Kelly said Friday evening she was making offhand and "tongue-in-cheek" comments about Santa Claus and Jesus Christ being white, and that the controversy over the segment is a result of "race-baiting" while the real debate was lost.

Devoting more than 15 minutes of "The Kelly File" to the subject and bringing on two panelists to discuss the reaction, Kelly said the original Wednesday segment was just a way to bring some humor to her show.

"I realize that the piece by [Aisha] Harris which went on to argue that Santa should be a penguin was also tongue in cheek. That's in part why we covered the story in the first place," Kelly said. "When outspoken ESPN columnist and First Take co-host Stephen Smith weighed in on the war of words between former NFL star and activist Jim Brown and NBA star Kobe Bryant, he took a detour into the politics of the black community. On Friday's First Take, Smith used the Brown/Bryant brouhaha as a pivot to the way the black community treats black conservatives, lamenting that "black conservatives are considered pariahs and are ostracized in our communities and it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever."

Jim Brown and Kobe Bryant are currently feuding over remarks that Brown made on Arsenio Hall's show last week, which had less to do with politics than with Bryant's upbringing in another country, and its effect on his black consciousness. Bill O'Reilly OUTRAGED Over Marijuana Journalism

"Bill O'Reilly has managed to find a non-War on Christmas™ story to be outraged about this month: The Denver Post hiring a pot editor. And despite the protestations of Juan Williams and Mary Katharine Ham, O'Reilly was beyond outraged that such a prominent paper would promote public intoxication, though he was rather insistent that no one could make a fair comparison between a pot editor and someone reviewing alcohol.

O'Reilly said that no paper would ever, ever hire a "booze editor." Williams pointed out the obvious: that wine critics exists. And there are plenty of newspapers that have wine critics. But O'Reilly shot back that unlike the pot editor, wine critics aren't dealing with "an intoxication deal."

Ham joined Williams in rare agreement, telling O'Reilly it's a "serious public policy issue" that's become all the more important by legalization in Colorado. O'Reilly kept insisting it's outrageous, even jumping back into the alcohol pool again. Gay Waitress Who Forged Homophobic Receipt - Update

"At least three duped donors who gave money to a waitress and former Marine who claimed a family left her a homophobic note instead of a tip have had their donations refunded via PayPal, according to the founder of the web site that had first publicized the story and posts on the site.

Dayna Morales, a waitress at Gallop Asian Bistro, N.J., made national headlines and received an outpouring of public support and at least $3,000 in donations after she claimed a family stiffed her and instead left her a note on the receipt reading, "Sorry, I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and the way you live your life."

Yesterday, Everett was handed a hefty prison sentence for the murder of Amanda Gonzalez-Andujar, a transgender New York prostitute. Everett strangled Andujar to death after discovering that she had male genitalia. But before Everett's 29-year prison sentence was finalized, Scarpa tried to argue that the punishment was too harsh since Andujar was so low class.

"A sentence of 25 years to life is an incredibly long period of time judge," Scarpa said. "Shouldn't that be reserved for people who are guilty of killing certain classes of individuals?"
