The Daily Show, Internet News on the Rise?
Millenials HATE the news, according to University of Texas at Austin Professor Paula Poindexter. Young people do not make it a priority to stay informed because they feel that media talks down to them, comes off as propaganda or is just plain boring, Poindexter found. They also think most news media do not cover issues important to them. Watch the video and find out more with John Iadarola and Lisa Ferguson on TYT University!

Stuck With Student Loan Tax Bill After Suicide?
Student loans bite back even after student death... "A mother in Maryland is stuck with a $14,000 tax bill from the Internal Revenue Service for her deceased son's student loans. Roswell Friend, a Temple University student, committed suicide in 2011. Since Friend's death, Sallie Mae discharged the $55,400 owed for a Parent Plus Loan. But the Baltimore Sun reports the IRS treats forgiven debt as taxable income, and expects $14,000 from his mother, Regina Friend." via Huffington Post. Butt Chugging: Alcohol Enemas Deadly?
A University of Tennessee student denied "butt-chugging" wine, but bloodstains, his injuries and eyewitness accounts told a different story, UT records released today show. The members of fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha apparently chugged the wine — through one orifice or another — as part of a "blackout party," with one member posting pictures to Twitter, and tried to destroy evidence afterward, according to a UT police report. Alexander P. Broughton, 20, of Memphis was treated for severe alcohol poisoning Saturday after he arrived at the University of Tennesee Medical Center unconscious with a blood-alcohol level of nearly 0.45, according to police — a potentially deadly concentration more than five times the legal limit. Knoxville and UT officers reported finding empty bags from wine boxes and passed-out frat boys at the Pi Kappa Alpha house, where at least one member told investigators they'd been "butt-chugging" wine, according to records...".* Ana Kasparian, Cenk Uygur, and Ben Mankiewicz break it down on The Young Turks.

Fox News Airs Carjacker Suicide By Mistake
Embarrassed Fox News executives and shocked viewers from coast to coast were horrified Friday when the network aired an Arizona carjacker's suicide on live television. The stunning feed of the fleeing suspect putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger aired at 3:31 p.m., with anchor Shepard Smith caught cringing before the coverage ended — seconds too late. "Get off, get off, get off," said a clearly distraught Smith, his voice rising as the man's deadly intent became clear. "Get off it! Get off it! Get off it!" The network blamed human error for the gruesome gaffe, with one source indicating a Fox producer was slow to cut away from live coverage of what started as a high-speed police chase. The unidentified man was pronounced dead in the Arizona outback shortly after Fox viewers watched the mortally wounded suspect fall face-first to the ground. Fox News veteran Smith, after the network abruptly cut to commercial, returned to the air with a lengthy apology for the fatal fiasco...".* Ana Kasparian, Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, Jesus Godoy discuss on The Young Turks.

Romney went on to state he could never get that 47 percent to "take personal responsibility and care for their lives." Turns out college students didn't like being called victims! Samuel L. Jackson: 'Wake The Fuck Up' And Vote For Obama
You're probably already sick of political ads by now, what with the presidential election less than six weeks away, but a group of Barack Obama supporters are banking on the fact a new unorthodox spot they're releasing — starring Samuel L. Jackson and jarringly titled "Wake the F*** Up" — will get your attention...The three-minute, 30-second ad, sponsored by the Jewish Council for Education and Research, is a play on the reading Jackson did last year of the satirical "children's book" Go the F*** to Sleep, which quickly went viral...".* Will this video help turn out voters for Obama and make a Romney defeat more likely? Voter Fraud
Romney Campaign Volunteer Says She Works For Clerk's Office, But Only Registering Romney Voters (VIDEO)
Posted: 09/24/2012 11:02 am EDT Updated: 09/24/2012 5:14 pm EDT
FOLLOW:
A video uploaded to YouTube on Friday depicting a young woman registering voters in El Paso County, Colorado claiming she works for the clerk's office, but is only registering voters who support Mitt Romney has gone viral over the weekend.
The person recording the video exits a Safeway grocery store and a young woman who is registering voters outside the store asks her, "Are you voting for Romney or Obama?"
The woman recording responds, "Well, wait, I thought you were registering voters a minute ago."
To which the young woman replies, "I am." The person recording then asks, "Well, who are you registering? All voters?"
"Well, I'm actually trying to register people for a particular party. Because we're out here in support of Romney, actually," the young woman registering voters says.
"And who is paying you for this?" The video recorder asks.
"We're working for the County Clerk's Office," the young woman replies with some hesitation and confusion.
The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Wayne Williams disavowed the young woman's statements that she was registering voters on behalf of Williams' office. "The statement made in this video is both unfortunate and inaccurate," Williams said in a statement. "My office does not and will not engage in partisan voter registration. It is the duty of the Clerk’s office to ensure that elections are conducted in a fair and honest manner, this includes allowing any one to register to vote regardless of their political party affiliation."
According to 9News, the young woman registering voters outside of the Safeway storewas a volunteer for the Romney campaign who has since been spoken to by the campaign about her actions.
Republicans in El Paso County claim that the video was recorded more than a month ago by a Democratic "campaign operative" and has been released now to damage the Romney campaign. But, Christy Lelait, Chairman for the El Paso County Democratsdenies that charge to KOAA. "It's an interesting charge. I don't know of any campaign operatives here in El Paso County and I know for certain that the woman who shot this video is not a campaign operative, she's a volunteer with several different organizations including the El Paso Democratic Party and she's also a precinct chair."
Later in the video the woman recording says to the volunteer, "Okay, you cannot come out here and register one party, lady." The young woman now becoming clearly embarrassed puts her hands up in front of the camera to block her face. "You're working for the County Clerk's Office?"
"I believe so, yes," the young woman says.
"And you're only registering Republicans?" The video recorder says with outrage. To which the young woman replies, "No."
"You said you're only registering Romney people," says the video recorder.
And the young woman replies, "Well, we're trying to, to be honest."
It's unclear if the young woman in the video was only registering Romney voters, but if that were the case, it would be illegal if she were doing so on behalf of the County Clerk's office. It would also be illegal to deny a person registration based on their survey answers, which isn't entirely clear if that would have occurred in the video above either.
The El Paso County Clerk's Office has requested that the video be removed from YouTube because it contains inaccurate information, but the person who uploaded the video has refused to do so.
